Yoga Afloat® includes standing Hatha Yoga poses with Breathwork (“pranayama”), suspended and floating poses with equipment, and wall assisted poses. Partner and group poses are also included in the program. Standing poses most benefit the body by improving balance, core stability, flexibility and focus.
Suspended and floating poses are primarily to improve joint mobility, muscle coordination, overall strength and relaxation. Suspended poses also help to traction the spine. Wall assisted poses address muscle lengthening and gently align the joints. Breathwork is extremely important in every facet of Yoga Afloat® but especially during the meditative segment that often includes neck and shoulder stretches.
